LOOKING FOR A BATTLE CREEK TAX ATTORNEY?
Although I’m not technically a Battle Creek tax attorney, we have an office in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills and I understand the challenges taxpayers in Michigan are facing with the foreclosure boom in full swing. The effects on the Michigan economy are wide spread and devastating. The economy is the cause of many of my client’s IRS tax problems. But there is a silver lining to this dark cloud.
You read that right. You can actually use the down economy to your advantage in solving your IRS tax problem.
When you’re negotiating with the IRS the number one factor they look at is your ability to pay. For example, the more equity you have in your house the more they want you to pay them. Many of my clients (like the rest of the United States) have seen the value of their homes plummet, wiping out most, if not all, of their equity. None of us saw it coming but as they say, “done is done”. The good news is, that big negative, has just become a positive for you. The IRS has to acknowledge the drop in the value of your home (and the drop in the value of other assets you own). Therefore, this reduces your “ability to pay” which could very easily reduce the amount you have to pay the IRS. (See for example the many videos on my web site of clients who we have successfully reduced their debt).
Many of my clients enjoy the peace of mind that comes with being debt free. Why not you?
